I’ll be in the Fort Meyers area on the weekend of January 18th and have a little surprise for you! I’ll be doing a 2-hour special workshop – a hybrid of my “Games for Belly Dance Class” and “Belly Dance Anatomy & Injury Prevention” workshops. The material is not style-specific and will be a great addition to any cabaret, tribal or fusion instructor’s teaching toolbox and body mechanics knowledge.
“Games for Belly Dance Class” – We drill, we do combos and choreos…. and we can also play games! Learn fun, easy to lead games that will reinforce the skills you present, teach dance concepts and help your students make their first steps in improvisation. Round out your lesson with a game and your students will leave class with a happy smile!
“Belly Dance Anatomy & Injury Prevention” – Learn to dance safer and stronger! We’ll cover muscles important to belly dance with regard to great arm flow, posture, juicy core movement and safe hips, knees and ankles. Material covers anatomy, strengthening, stretching and the application of biomechanical principles to belly dance movement. Mahin holds a B.S. in Exercise & Wellness and is an ACSM Certified Personal Trainer.
As part of the DBQ’s 4th Belly-versary Celebration, this workshop is open to all and by donation at the door. But please do register in advance to hold your spot! You can register by emailing the host, Juanita, directly to have your name added to the list.
