Join us for two workshops that will really tune-up your bellydance skills! Whether you are a cabaret, tribal or fusion bellydancer, these topics will help you understand your body on a new level and make practical connections to your dance.
11:00 – 12:30 – “Bellydance Anatomy & Injury Prevention”
Learn to dance safer and stronger! We’ll cover muscles important to belly dance with regard to great posture, graceful arms, juicy core movement and safe hips, knees and ankles. Material covers anatomy, strengthening, stretching and the application of biomechanical principles to belly dance movement. Mahin holds a B.S. in Exercise & Wellness and is an ACSM Certified Personal Trainer
12:45 – 2:15 – “Full On with 3/4 Shimmies”
Frustrated with 3/4 shimmies? No more! A complete breakdown of a variety of 3/4 walking shimmies that will add a whole new dimension of cool complexity to your travelling or drum solos. Learn how to analyze and progressively approach (and teach) any 3/4 walking shimmy for great results without frustration.
