“Bellydance Anatomy & Injury Prevention” – 10:00 – 11:30 am
Learn to dance safer and stronger! We’ll cover muscles important to belly dance with regard to great arm flow, posture, juicy core movement and safe hips, knees and ankles. Material covers anatomy, strengthening stretching and the application of biomechanical principles to belly dance movement. Mahin holds a B.S. in Exercise & Wellnes and is an ACSM Certified Personal Trainer.
“Full On with 3/4 Shimmies!” – 11:45 – 1:15 pm
A complete breakdown of a variety of 3/4 walking hip shimmies that will add a whole new level of cool complexity to your drum solos and travelling. Learn how to analyze and progressively approach (and teach) any 3/4 walking shimmy without frustration for great success!

“City Girl, Country Girl: Combos for Sha’abi & Beladi” – 1:45 – 3:15
A playful exploration in Egyptian style! You’ll learn earthy, juicy combos for country-style beladi and sassy, light-hearted combos for Sha’abi, the social dance style of the urban working class. We’ll break down and drill technique for style-specific movements.

Learn to think on your feet and interpret the music in shapes, lines and textures – that’s what it’s all about! Paint the perfect picture of the music with spatial, level and repetition concepts for beautiful, interesting spontaneous creations. We will cover both melodic and drum solo improvisation concepts.
