Just wanted to say that I watch your short dance lessons and always pick up something new…. (you did use one of mine…. which is the follow the leader game….btw…)
I have been Bellydancing since I was about 20 so do the math, I am now 65 and teaching again… I teach senior women from 55 and up to about 93… my oldest… they are wonderfully patient and try everything..
.of course we don’t use zills…it would be impossible… and we never ever do anything like” floorwork…” but I could give you some of my tips as well…lol… I love to see the way women come out of their shells while dancing…
I can follow all of the movements that you do, but sometimes get stuck on combinations…( just simply forget.)
I have altered and made more simple, some of the combos… You teach very clearly and don’t show off… which many young teachers do, rather than teaching itself. I love what I do now…. oh yes, No swords, and definitely no Candles….
I had some trouble myself with “pops” and shimmying… that I tried to teach my more advanced class…. but it ended in laughter… By the way, we have no mirrors in any of the senior centers….. Never underestimate the power of women… that’s more or less my motto to anyone who laughs at senior bellydancing….
Thanks for sharing the short lessons… I watch before I teach to remind me of something or the other…..
Hi: I’m 78 still dancing & using zills. Always liked playing them. Thanks for what you’re doing. Everything you say is true. Luv you and don’t stop.
